Are You Offering Hope to Others Around You?
As we’ve discussed in
previous FUELS, a leader is a person who inspires other people to take a
journey they would not take by themselves.
Last week, we discussed how you can inspire others through trust.
Today’s key building block to inspiring others is hope .
How can you offer hope to those around you?
Webster
says hope is “to want something to happen or be true; trust; to expect with
confidence, to desire something and expect it will happen.”
If those around you trust you and you offer them hope, they will be open to your inspiration.
Are you and your leadership team offering hope and encouraging your people on a daily basis to rise above circumstances to achieve goals?
Four Ways to Offer Hope to Others:
- H
elp others unconditionally. People want
to know how much you care before you they care about how much you know.
- O
vercome problems with a smile and with
calm. Lead by example.
- P
rovide ideas and solutions to help others
with their problems. Listen first to understand, then seek to be
understood.
- E
ncourage everyone all day long. Be each
person’s biggest fan!
Hope is the most
powerful force in the universe. With hope you can
inspire nations to greatness. With hope you can raise
up the downtrodden. With hope you can wear
the pain of unbearable loss.

McRaven in his book, Make Your Bed
When you give people hope, they will be inspired by you! When they are inspired by you, they will MAKE A PLAY!
